Our Suggested Approach
The Programme can be a fully integrated sequence of 8x2 day
modules. To enable project work to be undertaken between each
module, it is proposed that each 2 day session takes place on
a monthly basis. This would therefore mean that the duration
of the programme would be over a period of 8 months.
It is further suggested that a final presentation session
to your Senior Management could then take place at the end
of the programme, with the primary objective of giving the
participants the opportunity to feedback what they have learnt
from the programme, as well as for the Management to understand
how these skills can be applied and built into the business
process within your organisation.
All modules will be fully 'hands-on' with delegates undertaking
practical exercises throughout. Role Plays, videoed where
necessary, will form part of some of the training, and professional
videos and games will be used appropriately to enhance understanding.
Training Programme Modules
The following outlines the modules which will be covered
during the training programme and gives details of the kind
of project work that will be undertaken during the programme.
The modules have been carefully identified and arranged to
follow a logical and natural progression for maximum benefit,
enabling participants to 'put into practice' what they have
learnt and to help them develop the skills and techniques
both in the workplace and during the duration of the training
programme.
Module 1 ( 2 Days )
Looking at One's innerself.
This module will cover goals and ambitions and how other people
see and judge us, as well as how we see and judge others.
Project work to be undertaken after module 1
and before module 2 will be preparing an effective presentation
from a range of topics.
Module 2 ( 2 Days )
Presentation Skills.
This module will show how to write and make a professional
presentation to a standard of excellence.
Modules 1 & 2 are excellent starting blocks for a management
development programme, highlighting the real person in each
delegate on how they think and how they react to people and
vice versa, with video being used as an effective debrief
on how the delegates actually present themselves. Delegates
will not be 'categorised' into the types of people they are
but given a greater awareness of the skills and thought processes
needed for effective all round management. This will also
build the group into a mutual support group to add value to
the ongoing training programme.
Project work to be undertaken after module 2
and before module 3, will be to prepare an evaluation of how
Kaizen can help or hinder the workplace.

Module 3 ( 2 Days )
Total Quality Management.
Project Management.
This module highlights the ever increasing need for quality
in the workplace and how this can be built into specific projects
we have to undertake. Planning and control play an important
part here.
Project work to be undertaken after module 3
and before module 4 will be to prepare an evaluation of where
companies have approached service standards incorrectly.
Module 4 ( 2 Days )
Customer Care.
Team Building.
Assertiveness.
This module pulls together the Total Quality Management approach
into an effective high standard of direct customer care. The
dangers of an inappropriate policy of customer care is also
discussed. The effectiveness of leadership brings together
all of the issues in this module, referring back to the other
learning points covered in the programme to date.
Project work to be undertaken after module 4
and before module 5 will be learning background details and
jargon of financial analysis and control.
Module 5 ( 2 Days )
Financial Business Management.
This module looks at detailed financial business management
from a manager's point of view and with the view of a banker
and accountant. This module pulls together greater financial
awareness, by 'how to think Group', where Quality also has
a cost implication. Previous key learning points are revisited
again where relevant, and the budgeting part leads into areas
for the next module.
Project work to be undertaken after module 5
and before module 6 will be to learn background details of
your marketing plan, or for open courses, showing examples
of where companies have good and not so good marketing plans.
Module 6 ( 2 Days )
Marketing.
Selling.
This module differentiates between marketing, selling and
advertising. How businesses should draw up a marketing plan
is covered using your marketing plan as an example. Business
improvement and growth are highlighted drawing in earlier
learning points from quality issues and budgeting etc.
Project work to be undertaken after module 6
and before module 7 may be to write an article on the anticipated
impact of either the ECU or further European Integration on
your organisation.

Module 7 ( 2 Days )
Communication Skills.
Negotiation Skills.
This Module acts as an interface and catalyst for all of
the previous topics. Without the skills highlighted here,
all other management tasks will not be effectively carried
out.
Project work to be undertaken after module 7
and before module 8 may be to write an evaluation on the findings
of Maslow.
Module 8 ( 2 Days )
Supervisory Skills.
Business Process Re-engineering.
Time Management.
This module finalises all other key management skills. The
coaching and counselling of staff is highlighted here, pointing
out that change is certain and how planning and implementing
change affects people.
After the 8 modules have been completed, the delegates will
prepare a paper, which will be presented personally by delegates,
to your Senior Management. This presentation will act as a
summary of the programme's key issues and how your organisation
can implement them into the business process
Integrating the Training Programme for Added Value
There is an enormous benefit to be obtained by integrating
this training programme into your business process, and the
modular format gives the option to build this programme around
any previous training to avoid duplication.
Training is not always built into the business process, whereas
with this training programme you have the confidence that
not only does it provide the tools and techniques for participants,
but it encourages how key issues can be built into the business
process.
Another important factor of the programme is that it gives
you the opportunity to address your business and to relate
to the actual day to day operation of your organisation. This
can help participants relate the tools and techniques to their
business, enabling the use and further development of their
skills with complete confidence.
This approach has always been the key on which the Management
Development Programme has been successfully delivered, and
why it continues to be welcomed by many different organisations
in their quest to build a better business ... a better future.
